Nominations now open for Fairfield City Australia Awards 2010

An integral part of Australia Day celebrations is the presentation of awards to honour citizens’ contributions to the community and to celebrate their achievements.
The awards are held by almost every local government area in NSW and are awarded concurrently with the Australian of the Year Awards. The City of Fairfield has chosen to recognise the talents and achievements of its residents through three key awards:
• Fairfield City Australia Day Citizen of the Year
• Fairfield City Australia Day Young Citizen of the Year (for entrants 14 to 25 years of age as of 26 January 2010)
• Fairfield City Sports Achiever of the Year (for entrants aged above 14 years of age as of 26 January 2010)
Recognition can be for significant involvement in the community, commitment to the City's local identity, leadership and voluntary activities, or achievements in areas such as sport and academic excellence. Those nominated will also be considered for an Australia Day medallion or certificate.
A Nomination form can be downloaded here. Please view the Nomination Guidelines before submitting your nomination. Nominations close at 4.30pm on Thursday 19 November 2009. Winners will be announced at a special ceremony to be held next year on Monday 25 January 2010.
