Council has implemented a range of water conservation measures to improve water efficiency in Council buildings as part of Sydney Water’s Water for Life program.

By adopting a variety of water sustainability tactics, Council has achieved a massive 62 per cent cut in water usage in the Administration Building alone.

Council has installed a range of harvesting and reuse features at Council’s Administration Building, Cabravale Leisure Centre, Bonnyrigg Community Centre and the Nalawala Community Hall.

The features include the installation of rainwater tanks and the replacement of fixtures and fittings in the buildings. By cutting 62 per cent of water usage at the Administration Building, Council was recognised with the ‘Highest Percentage KPI reduction’ award at the Sydney Water’s Every Drop Counts awards, which acknowledge businesses and individuals who are industry leaders in water efficiency.

Council installed rainwater tanks at its Administration Centre in Wakeley.

There are many easy ways you can help save water in your home.

Some of these include planting drought tolerant plants in your garden, collecting rainwater, installing water efficient showerheads or simply fixing leaks.
