Who is Luke Nguyen ?

After escaping Vietnam as boat people in 1978, Luke Nguyen’s family made their home in Cabramatta. Luke’s passion for food stemmed from his food obsessed parents who owned and operated a Cabramatta restaurant for 15 years.

Training and working with renowned Sydney chefs, Luke went on to open the award winning ‘Red Lantern Vietnamese Restaurant’ with his brother-in-law, Mark Jensen.

Luke and his sister, Pauline, wrote the bestselling ‘Secrets of the Red Lantern’. His new book, ‘The Songs of Sapa: Stories and Recipes from Vietnam’ is due to be released in October and Luke’s recently completed cooking series, filmed in Vietnam, will soon be seen on SBS TV.
