Our Neighbourhood

17 October 2009 - 29 November 2009

To be opened by Mayor Nick Lalich, Local MP on Saturday 17 October at 3.00pm.

Fairfield’s local government area is represented in this collection of photographs taken by ten local students and street photographer Andrew Stark in August 2009. The exhibition consists of fifty images personally selected by the students, ten striking black and white photographs by Andrew Stark, a video montage and voice recordings. Our Neighbourhood attempts to engage the local Fairfield community to think about what they value in their neighbourhood.

This is a Museum and Gallery and Fairfield City Council collaboration that seeks to bring together social, economic and environmental issues for engagement with the community. The Our Neighbourhood project consisted of a week-long photography workshop, a digital media exhibition, a blog and a printed catalogue featuring the student’s images.
