Projects

Bonnyrigg Town Centre Park

In 2008 the Bonnyrigg Town Centre Park will be upgraded with seating and picnic areas, a play area and art works.. The Park was developed in close consultation with the local Aboriginal community. It continues to provide a much-needed space for residents to relax, exercise, socialise and play.

The Park has effectively connected the town centre and Transit Way to Smithfield Road, greatly improving the amenity of the area. It was designed with recreation and environmental ideals in mind, with the naturalised creek and wetland areas serving an important role in flood mitigation and enhancing local water quality.

Bonnyrigg Living Communities

The State Government announced the Bonnyrigg Living Communities Project in 2004. Council has worked in close partnership with the Department of Housing on this major urban renewal project. The project is aimed at developing a master plan to guide future redevelopment (including a new mix of private and public housing) of the Bonnyrigg Housing Estate.

Bonnyrigg Partnerships, a consortium which includes Westpac, Becton Development Group, St George Community Housing and Spotless Property Management services have been chosen to redevelop and renew the area. Construction will begin in later 2008.

Preferred Project Report and Appendices

Following a public exhibition period earlier this year and in response to submissions received from the community, State Government agencies and Council, Bonnyrigg Partnerships has now submitted a 'preferred project report' for the Bonnyrigg Living Communities Project.

The report includes a preferred project report with a detailed response to submisssions (volume 1) , revised technical reports (volumes 2-3) and amended architectural plans for the dwellings in stage 1 (volume 4).
