The Local Studies Service in Fairfield City Libraries maintains a strong Local Studies Collection. The collection includes information on all aspects of Fairfield City, past and present, and made available to all. This collection is located at the Whitlam Library, Cabramatta; however selected resources are available at the other branches.
The Local Studies Librarian, Marilyn Gallo works with the community and other organisations to collect preserve and promote Fairfield's heritage. The collection includes: books, reports, photographs, Oral history recordings, subdivision and parish maps, videos and DVDs.
Our Family History Collection consists of genealogical resources, including indexes to Births, Deaths and Marriages for New South Wales and several other Australian States, handbooks, directories, a small selection of electoral rolls and shipping.
