Topics and activities include:

  • Critters in Creeks - Children will catch and identify critters living in our creek and how they make our creeks healthy.

  • Cooking with Leftovers – Children will learn about the importance of not wasting food and will get an opportunity to cook with food items that are generally thrown out.

  • Energy Sustainability - Children will learn how to be more energy conscious and learn how to reduce their energy consumption. Children will do a few science experiments using sustainable products and robots.

  • Native Flora Bush Walk Children will go on a bush walk to learn about the native plants and animals found in the local area and ways to protect them.

  • Nature Photography – A photography workshop where children will go out into the field and look how full sun, part sun and shade affect their nature pictures.

  • Recycled Art Fun Day – Participants get to create their own arts and craft projects using recycled materials and their imagination turning junk into something funky.
  • Garbage Truck Tour - see how a recycling truck works. We will also look at what happens to your rubbish once it goes into the bin.
