Amplify - Women's Digital Storytelling
FREE digital art workshops for women who reside, study or work within the Fairfield LGA on capturing untold, motivating and inspiring stories of women from different cultural backgrounds!
Phoenix Eye films will be running a new free two day workshop for women who live, work or study in the Fairfield local government area (LGA). These hands-on workshop is designed for women who are interested in engaging with digital arts practices as storytellers and/or emerging filmmakers. Amplify will take place over a weekend, kicking off on Saturday, 17 August at the 2166 Studio at the Cabramatta Whitlam Library and ends on Sunday afternoon, 18 August at the Fairfield School of Arts. Over the course of the workshop, participants will be supported to create films, learn about concept development, scriptwriting, storyboarding, camera, lighting, sound recording and post-production, while engaging with the medium of digital stories, under the guidance of local film industry professionals. The workshops will conclude with a public screening to be launched at The Crescent Plaza, Fairfield on the 25 October, 2019. Phoenix Eye is a Fairfield based female led film & media collective of Western Sydney multidisciplinary artists.

Fairfield Better Together Runners Club
"Will you run with me?" Free, weekly, a little over 5km timed runs (or walk). We are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in. We encourage people of every ability to take part.
The course starts at the obstacle course at Fairfield Park, Fairfield NSW 2165, and finishes at Honour Avenue, Vine St Fairfield.
We meet every Sunday at 8am and the run or walk should take less than one hour.

Free Chemical Clean Out and E-Waste Collection
Local residents can safely dispose of potentially hazardous chemicals and electronic waste at the Annual Chemical and E-waste CleanOut Collection event.
The safe way to dispose of potentially hazardous household chemicals is at a Household Chemical CleanOut event. CleanOut is a free service for the safe disposal of a range of household chemicals that could cause harm to human health and the environment if they are not disposed of correctly.
What can I take to a Chemical and E-waste CleanOut event?
You can take household quantities of the following household chemicals and items – up to a maximum of 20 litres or 20 kilograms of a single item.
You can take these items to a Household Chemical CleanOut and E-waste event:
- Solvents and household cleaners
- Floor care products
- Ammonia-based cleaners
- Pesticides and herbicides
- Pool chemicals
- Hobby chemicals
- Acids and alkalis
- Motor fuels
- Electronic waste
Business-related and commercial quantities of chemicals are not accepted.
