Short film workshop
Wednesday 24 January, 10am - 3pm
$35 per person
Get hands-on experience in filmmaking, acting, photography and more in this one-day workshop! Guided by local professional filmmakers, children will work in small groups to shoot, act, direct and edit a short film. Please bring a packed lunch, snacks and water for this workshop.
Thursday 25 January
Join artist Lisa Sammut to explore astronomy and cosmic wonders, lines and geometric shapes to make colourful watercolour paintings of outer space. Not to be missed by children who are passionate about science, space or art!
Christmas at the Museum

Spin a Yarn: Social Knitting Group - Christmas Special!
Every Saturday in November, 1pm - 3pm
Drop in Saturday’s to meet, mingle and swap yarns with other fellow knitters!
Get busy sharing techniques, trading tips and knit innovative Christmas gifts, decorations and projects. Beginner, intermediate and advanced knitters of all ages and abilities welcome.
Short Film Workshop
Saturday 11 November, 9.30am – 4.30pm
Ages: 8 – 16 years
Get hands-on experience in filmmaking, acting, photography, producing, and more in this one-day workshop! Guided by local professional film-makers from CuriousWorks, participants will work in small groups to shoot, act, direct and edit a short film. Bookings essential as places are limited.
Saturday 18 November
1pm – 4pm
$20 per participant
In this workshop participants will have the opportunity to explore various drawing mediums, with expert demonstrations, tips and guidance from local Artist in Residence, Loribelle Spirovski. Using a photograph of yourself, a partner, family member or friend to capture likeness, proportions and facial expressions, participants will develop a realistic or abstract portrait to take home.
Still-Life Painting Workshop
Saturday 14 October, 10am – 1pm
$25 per person
Become immersed in the intricate and colourful world of acrylic painting, and create your own still-life masterpiece. Participants will be guided through tips and demonstrations from Artist in Residence, Loribelle Spirovski, to gain confidence or improve in their approach to acrylic painting processes and practices. Beginners are welcome and more experienced painters will find this course refreshing, with plenty of new challenges.
Adult Art Classes - Beginners
Wednesdays (18 October – 22 November), 12.30pm – 2.30pm
This six week course is a perfect starting point for beginners or for intermediates, providing adults with a relaxed and enjoyable introduction to principles of acrylic painting and materials.
A material list will be provided to particpants a week before the classes.
Teddy Bears Picnic
Friday 27 October, 10.30am - 12pm

In celebration of National Children’s Week™ we are inviting children under 5 to bring their favourite teddy bear or toy to the museum for a special day of fun!
The event includes a Teddy Bear hide and seek around the grounds, followed by a magic show, disco dancing, fun with bubbles and picnic in the garden.
Halloween at the Museum
Monday 31 October, 5pm – 7pm
Spend Halloween trick-or-treating through our spooky Vintage Village! Featuring games, activities, face painting, craft and ghoulish story-time. Remember to bring a trick-or-treat bag to hold your goodies!
