Western Sydney Rail Needs Scoping Study 

The Australian and NSW Governments have released a discussion paper for the Western Sydney Rail Needs Scoping Study seeking feedback by 28 October 2016.

The discussion paper addresses rail connections to the Western Sydney Airport and other proposals. The discussion paper can be found at http://www.westernsydneyrail.transport.nsw.gov.au/

Environmental Impact Statement

The Western Sydney Airport (Badgerys Creek) draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was released for public exhibition on Monday 19 October 2015 along with the draft Airport Plan.

Community submissions on the development of the proposed airport closed on Friday 18 December 2015.

Council has reviewed the EIS, which has also been subject to an independent review. A link to this peer review report is displayed below.

Council’s submission was made public when it was sent to the Federal Government.


Western Sydney Airport

Western Sydney Airport: Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) - The draft EIS is a study of the environmental, social and economic impact the proposed Western Sydney Airport would have on the airport site and the surrounding area. It includes assessments on noise, air quality, transport, heritage, water quality, ecology, local and regional economy, social impacts, property values and other aspects. A number of specialist studies and site investigations have been undertaken, with the draft EIS presenting detailed analysis of the data from these studies.

Western Sydney Airport: EIS - Making a submission - The Western Sydney Airport Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is on public exhibition. Submissions on the EIS closed on 18 December 2015. 

Western Sydney Airport: Noise Modelling Tool - The Noise Modelling Tool allows residents and land owners to view the predicted noise level, typical jet altitude, and typical number of flights over their properties.

Western Sydney Airport: Infrastructure Plan - The Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan involves major road and transport linkages associated with the proposed airport.

Western Sydney Airport: Peer Review - In September 2015 the Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC), and the Macarthur Regional Organisation of Councils (MACROC) established a steering group to oversee an Independent Peer Review of the EIS.
