There is plenty to do at Fairfield City Museum & Gallery! This season we start our program of events with a fantastic range of fun activities for kids. All of our regular courses for kids and adults throughout the term include materials & tuition. Remember you can use your $100 CREATIVE KIDS voucher for any courses costing $100 or more. Children’s Creative Program

Children’s Tuesday Clay Club
Tuesdays 4pm – 5.30pm
Ages: 6+ years

Learn how to make hand-built sculptures, ornaments and vases during these pottery workshops for kids.

Term 1: 11 February to 31 March 2020 (8 weeks)

Children’s Wednesday Art Club
Wednesdays 4pm – 5.30pm
Ages: 6+ years

A fun program that introduces students to a wide variety of art forms and techniques.

Term 1: 12 February to 1 April 2020 (8 weeks)

Tiny Tot Thursdays
Thursdays 10am – 11am
Ages: 2-5 years

A special program for the little ones where your child will create artworks with paint, pencil, clay and even play dough! They will explore a new art or craft each week and build on existing skills. Make sure you dress to get messy!

Term 1: 27 February to 9 April 2020 (7 weeks)

Living Cultures Festival is back again celebrating what makes Fairfield City unique. Part of Harmony Day festivities, this event is a melting pot of Fairfield City's diversity and talent from our rich cultural communities. Come and see dancers and performances, indulge in culinary cuisines and partake in our craft and cultural stalls and activities for children and families.

Watercolour Course: Summer Session
Fridays 12.30pm – 2.30pm

Looking to learn or perfect the skill of watercolour painting? This six-week course is perfect for you! Suitable not only for beginners but also for those looking to further develop their watercolour technique. Whether painting landscapes or still-life, our tutor will expertly guide you on how to plan a simple composition all while enjoying the company of a friendly group of fellow participants.

The Clay Studio: Summer Session
Fridays 10am – 12pm

This is the perfect course for potters of all levels. You can make a new piece each week and grow your skills in hand-building and specialised glazing. By the end of the term you will have 4 finished clay projects plus a better understanding of working with ceramics.

Comic-Illustration Course: Summer Session
Saturdays 11am – 1pm

Do you have a passion and interest in illustration and comics? Create your own characters and storyboards whilst building on your existing drawing skills with the assistance of artist Hilary Sandeman. This is a teen and young adult friendly course, take advantage on this fantastic opportunity; you do not want to miss this!

Clay Abilities
Mondays 10.3am – 11.30am

Clay Abilities is a 8-week, structured clay course for people living with a disability. Our expert tutor will teach you how to create hand-built sculptures in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Create Abilities
Wednesdays 10.30am – 12pm

A fabulous creative program for people of all abilities. Create Abilities engages and encourages students to explore and build on their creative skills through a structured program.
