Bonnyrigg Town Centre Park
In 2008 the Bonnyrigg Town Centre Park was upgraded with seating and picnic areas, a play area and art works. The Park was developed in close consultation with the local Aboriginal community. It continues to provide a much-needed space for residents to relax, exercise, socialise and play.
The Park has effectively connected the town centre and Transit Way to Smithfield Road, greatly improving the amenities of the area. It was designed with recreation and environmental ideals in mind, with the naturalised creek and wetland areas serving an important role in flood mitigation and enhancing local water quality.
The Bonnyrigg Vision
The Bonnyrigg Vision was established to see the delivery of a number of improvements that will create a suburb where local residents and visitors can shop, celebrate, eat and relax. In order to achieve this, plans are in place to establish an improved retail mix, the introduction of an extensive calendar of festivals and activities, improved transportation and roads as well as improvements to the Town Centre Park
The Vision is set to raise the profile of the area as a well connected and accessible suburb with a cultural harmonious community and a thriving local economy.
