Extra Crescent car parking spots open

Shoppers, visitors and local businesses will benefit from additional car parking spaces along The Crescent between Fairfield Train Station and Hamilton Road roundabout.
Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said parking is important to help boost the local economy, making it easier for shoppers and visitors to access the city centre and services.
“We used the existing car parking space better to more than double the parking at this premium space near the rail station and businesses,” Mayor Carbone said.
“In total the area will have 39 car parking spots, which is more than double what was previously available.
“Council also widened the footpath and planted replacement trees of a more suitable species.
“This is another example of Council working smarter with our existing resources to benefit the community.
More car parking is a top 10 priority of residents in the community’s 2016-2026 Fairfield City Plan.
“Over the past four years, Council has responded to the community’s priorities and provided more than 1,000 additional car parking spaces across the City,” Mayor Carbone said.
Extra car parking spaces have been created across the City including at Bonnyrigg Heights, Canley Vale, Canley Heights, Cabramatta City Centre, Prairiewood and Fairfield City Centre.
