Family Day Care

Fairfield Council is seeking people with a passion for providing high quality education to join its team of professional Family Day Care educators, to meet the growing demand for homebased child education and care.

In 2016/2017, Fairfield City Council’s Family Day Care service joined other Council childcare services when it was identified as “exceeding” the national quality standards. This service has operated for more than 40 years in the Fairfield community and is the only Family Day Care scheme in Fairfield City to have received this outstanding result.

Results showed Council “exceeding” when it comes to key areas such as education programs, health and safety, staffing arrangements, relationships with children and community, and leadership.

Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said Council’s call for more educators reflects both community demand and Council’s reputation as Fairfield’s top provider of quality child care services.

“Our reputation in the community as the leading high quality provider has led to a growing list of children requiring care,” Mayor Carbone said.

“The structure, support and standards we provide benefit the children, their families and Family Day Care educators. Finding and supporting the right educators ensures they’re wellpositioned to make a lasting difference to the lives of children and families.”

The Fairfield City Family Day Care Coordination Unit provides educators with support for all aspects of running a family day care business. The unit has experience with training and policies regarding safety, hygiene, enrolments, payments and CCB/CCR and marketing.
