Huge Success for Lunar New Year in Cabramatta

A fantastic weekend was had by all who attended, including residents, visitors, businesses and sponsors. The great community cultural performances, and hit headline act PAW Patrol, created a real buzz in Freedom Plaza.
Mayor of Fairfield Frank Carbone, on behalf of Fairfield City Council, has extended a huge thankyou to the volunteers, community partners, sponsors and residents, for helping create a wonderful 2018 Cabramatta Lunar New Year event last weekend.
According the Mayor Carbone, the Cabramatta Lunar New Year Festival was an example of Fairfield City community working closely together to bring to life one of the city’s most colourful cultural events.
“Seeing local businesses and community groups work side by side highlights the power of our diverse community to support and collaborate on theses events of significance to the community,” said Mayor Carbone.
“The Australian Chinese Youth Sports Federation thrilled the crowds with their Lion Dance at Saturday’s opening ceremony.
“Local restaurants and shops were also busy, giving a boost to local businesses, benefiting from the increased foot traffic and the community atmosphere.”
“It was great to see Fairfield City Police Area Command had a stall at the event, and were there the whole weekend to ensure a safe and relaxed experience for families.
