Work by new Artist in Residence Loribelle Spirovski

A 26-year-old visual artist from Mt Pritchard has been announced as Fairfield Museum and Gallery’s 2016-17 Artist in Residence.

Loribelle Spirovski, who has a Serbian-Filipino heritage, will produce exciting works that will reflect the diversity of Fairfield City.

The Artist in Residency Program aims to strengthen and nurture the cultural and creative life of Fairfield City and provide opportunities for dialogue around our diverse communities.

Loribelle will produce a small series of paintings produced in a photorealistic/surrealist style that explore the ways in which people from all over the world have made Fairfield their home – from the Cabrogal people through to the modern composition of the City. She aims to reflect on the idea that Fairfield City is a shared home, between the old and the new.

Loribelle is a talented, emerging artist who is gaining momentum in the contemporary art world. Visitors will be able to view her exhibition at Fairfield City Museum and Gallery in early 2017.
