Charismatic Latino performer C Major (Carlos Velazquez) will add some South American spice to Fairfield’s renowned Spanish and Latin American Food Festival, Culinary Carnivale, on 22 October.

C Major became a national star after appearing in the 2014 series of The Voice and has often been compared to Latin superstar Ricky Martin.

The celebrity’s “home coming” (he has Uruguayan and Argentinian parents who live in Fairfield) will surely be one to remember as he oozes his upbeat energy while performing up-tempo songs.

Now in its sixth year, Culinary Carnivale will again offer a mouth-watering menu showcasing cuisines from Spain and Latin America, accompanied by Brazilian dancers, drummers, Mexican singers, football stars and a whole lot more in a friendly family atmosphere.

The popular 10m long asado barbecue returns in 2016, as well as stalls offering gelato, South American sweets, Spanish seafood paella, empanadas, and freshly squeezed juices sweetened with fresh sugar cane juice.

Apart from headline act C Major and the Majorettes, Culinary Carnivale regular entertainer Victor Valdes and his Real Mexico returns in 2016, as well as Batucuda Brasil, Comparsa Yauguru (drumming in the streets), Tierra Colombiana, and Latin Mystique. The Latin Heat Rugby League will hold a pass the ball competition, and Dauntless Movement Crew will perform their awe-inspiring acrobatics/breakdancing show.

Entertainment at, and entry to, Culinary Carnivale is free.

Also on the menu are giveaways and free amusement rides and jumping castles.

Make a date to join this authentic food event and live La Buena Vida (the good life) from 11am on Saturday 22 October in Spencer Street, Fairfield.

The best way to get to Culinary Carnivale is by train. Take a ride to Fairfield Station, then it's an easy 100m walk to Spencer Street!
