Keeping Fairfield City kids busy in the holidays

School holidays are just around the corner and Fairfield City has an array of activities available to keep your children entertained.

Active Kids School Holiday Program - Fairfield Leisure Centre

Children will participate in eight of 10 activities listed each day with breaks for morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Activities may be substituted at the discretion of the Program Overseer. 

  • Adventure Park
  • Badminton
  • Table tennis
  • Futsal / outdoor soccer
  • Basketball
  • Netball
  • Games eg, dodgeball, juggling, tunnel ball,frisbee, skipping, tug of war.
  • Boot Camp activities
  • Classes - Box n Burn, Circuit, Jungle Gym (depending on age bracket)
  • ActiveGator - CPR demonstration
  • Martial Moves
  • Trampolining
  • Chill Zone - Space Invaders, air hockey, pool, Xbox games.
  • Volleyball

Available to children 5-12 years of age during school holidays. The program runs from 8.30am to 4pm.

Drop off at Fairfield Youth and Community Centre between 8am and 8.30am and pick up at Fairfield Leisure Centre between 4pm and 4.30pm. Early drop off is available from 7am.

Pet Clay Sculptures

Make and paint a sculpture of a cherished animal in your life.

Marbling Fun

A fun-filled workshop where you create some amazing marbling designs to take home.

Ceramic Dragons

Make and decorate your own ceramic medieval dragon.

When: Thursday 7 and 14 July (two sessions), 10.30am-12pm
Ages: 7- 13 years
Cost: $25 per participant (for both classes includes materials and firing)

Ceramic Medieval Castles (for all the family)

Make and glaze a medieval ceramic castle tower to decorate your bedroom or home.

When: Friday 8 July 10.30am -12pm & Friday 15 July, 10.30am-11.30am
Ages: 5 -13 years
Cost: $25 for both workshops (includes free entry for one parent or carer, materials and firing).

Cartoonin’

Learn to draw a caricature of yourself as well as some other techniques used in the cartooning business.

When: Monday 11 July 10.30am-12pm

Fairytale Art Adventures (For All The Family)

Re-create a fairy tale puppet show using your own hand-made felt finger puppets. You will be shown how to turn a simple finger puppet template into a range of animals, mythical creatures, as well as princesses and knights.

Happy Hula Hoops!

Make and keep your own hula hoop and learn to perform simple circus tricks and hoop dance moves.

Fairy Tale Finger Puppets

Students will be able to re-create fairy tale puppet shows using their very own hand made felt finger puppets. Students will be shown how to turn a simple finger puppet template into a range of animals, mythical creatures, as well as princesses and knights.

Drawing Fantasy Figures

Ever wanted to create a fantasy story and don’t know where to start? Learn the art of creating characters for fantasy fiction, and learn skills for sketching heroes and heroines using a range of poses and expressions in storyboards. You are encouraged to bring your own sketchbook and images/ ideas to inspire the development of your characters and story.

Lego Robotics Workshop

Bring LEGO to life at our hands-on-workshop, where you can create your very own LEGO robot, using WeDo 2.0 programming software on an iPad.
