Residents can celebrate the New Year in Fairfield City this year with Fairfield City Council holding its inaugural New Year’s Eve event and fireworks spectacular which is set to be one of the biggest to come to Western Sydney.
The celebrations, endorsed at the Extra-Ordinary Council Meeting last night, will see fireworks displays at ten sites across the City, along with a live site featuring entertainment and fireworks. It is proposed that the fireworks be released from all sites at 9pm, uniting the City in one spectacular event.
The Mayor of Fairfield City, Frank Carbone, said he was excited about bringing a key event to City everyone could enjoy.
“One of my key priorities is to make Fairfield a better place for families. This event is perfect for those who want an alternative to travelling into the City and are seeking a family friendly way to celebrate the New Year,” Mayor Carbone said.
“Families will have the opportunity to enjoy this event from many locations. With a total so far of eleven sites spread across the LGA there will be something close to home for all residents.
Ten clubs have already committed support of up to $10,000 of Council’s New Year’s Eve event. The clubs include:

“This is a total of up to $100,000, which will deliver one of Western Sydney’s biggest ever fireworks displays.
“Clubs are passionate supporters of the local community and bring people together through many forms of community based activities. I am proud to be delivering this event with the support of our clubs.
“Council’s New Year’s Eve event will bring our clubs, the community and Council together in a way that will deliver an outstanding experience for the residents of the Fairfield LGA and greater Western Sydney,” Mayor Carbone said.
