New opening date to make bigger splash

Aquatopia will now officially open on 10 December to allow time to install complementary inflatable rides, making the much anticipated water park even better from day one.

Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said the 10 December opening allowed more convenient opportunities for families to use and experience the different facets of the facility as summer school holidays approach.

“The opening date has been changed to allow future works to be brought forward. Given the anticipated success, this allows completion of the grassed area to allow for more complementary inflatable rides.

“Features will then progressively open over summer, including additional stages, more grassed areas and the Stingray surfing and skim boarding half pipe ride.

“Aquatopia is an affordable day out for families and visitors. It is another example of the first-class community facilities supporting Fairfield City’s reputation as a family friendly destination.

“Council had created the water park as an affordable space where families and people of all ages and ability can come together, get active and get healthy.

The waterpark at Prairiewood Leisure Centre will be a hit for young and old with features such as thrilling 10m high giant slides; the Adventure Aqua Tower, with 79 unique and amazing elements; and, the interactive babies’ pool.

Families can enjoy Fairfield’s newest attraction every day of the school holidays and every weekend in summer between 10.30am until dusk.

Prices start at $14 for individuals, with a family pass for $45 for two adults and two children for Fairfield City residents.

“Spending time with family is important. We want families to come together to enjoy the experience in an affordable setting and that is why on selected days Aquatopia’s family pass allows an unlimited amount of children after 5pm for only $30,” Mayor Carbone said.

“Fairfield City is home to some of the best family facilities in South West Sydney. There is no need to travel elsewhere for an exciting family day out because it’s all here on your doorstep.”
