Free events for Australia Day 2017

Fairfield City residents can enjoy a number of free family friendly events on Australia Day.

Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said Council’s Australia Day events are for young and old to enjoy with their families.

“Australia Day is a chance to celebrate life in Australia, celebrate our City’s diversity and reflect on our achievements and what it means to be part of this great nation.

“I encourage everyone to come and enjoy the free activities and celebrations.”

Events and activities

Fairfield Leisure Centre free pool party
10am–3.30pm Thursday, 26 January

Fairfield Leisure Centre, Vine Street Fairfield

The family will be able to take advantage of free pool entry. Get drenched by the tipping bucket, play in the playground waterslides or groove along to the DJ. There is something for everyone with a 50m, 25m and babies’ pools open for use. Children under the age of 16 years require supervision.

Fairfield Youth and Community Centre free activities
10am–3.30pm Thursday, 26 January

The Fairfield Youth Centre will be open and free so everyone can take advantage of this great facility to rock climb, trampoline and play table tennis and basketball.

And of course nearby is our Adventure Park and newly opened obstacle course.

Prairiewood Leisure Centre free pool party
10am–3.30pm Thursday, 26 January

Prairiewood Leisure Centre, Prairie Vale Road, Prairiewood

The family will be able to take advantage of free entry to the pool while grooving along to the DJ and other activities and entertainment. Children under the age of 16 years require supervision.

Canley Heights Australia Day
9pm Thursday, 26 January

Canley Heights Town Centre

Witness a spectacular fireworks display with friends and family. The fireworks go off at 9pm, early enough for all members of the family to enjoy.
