Green Team and mighty clean

Published Tuesday, 7th February 2017

Fairfield City Council’s ‘Green Team’ has recently started working to maintain and beautify our City's 350 kilometres of main roads.

Their role is to spruce up round-a-bouts and traffic islands, slash overgrown verges, prune trees, remove litter and collect abandoned shopping trolleys.

Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said it will be great to see the results of this initiative starting to take an effect on the beauty of the area.

“Residents may have noticed the team out and about doing their job,” Mayor Carbone said.

“This year, the team will continue to build on this initiative, to boost the City’s reputation as a clean and attractive place to live, work and play.

“This multi-skilled, proactive team will work its way across the City acting as a ‘one stop shop’ for basic maintenance and cleaning services.

“Keeping our City clean is the responsibility of all residents and I encourage everyone to take pride in our City and help keep it green and clean.

“Let’s work together so we can continue to be proud of our beautiful City.”
