Council meeting extra parking priority

Fairfield City Council is meeting the community’s priority for more parking throughout the City.

Council has opened 65 new car parking places along Christie Street in Prairiewood after completing the surfacing work on Friday 10 March.

Residents visiting Braeside and Fairfield hospitals, or Aquatopia water park in peak times, can now make use of the extra parking. The 65 car parking spaces will take pressure off parking along Prairievale Rd.

Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said this project would add to the more than 1,000 extra car parking spaces Council has created throughout the City in the past four years.

“More car parking is one of the Top 10 priorities outlined by residents in the 2016-2026 Fairfield City Plan,” Mayor Carbone said.
