Fees discounted during ‘Operation Cat’
Published Wednesday, 30th August 2017
Fairfield City Council, in partnership with the Cat Protection Society of NSW, is offering pensioners and residents on low incomes a discounted rate on desexing and microchipping their cats.
“Operation Cat” will run from 18 to 29 September 2017.
Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said Operation Cat was a great opportunity for Fairfield City residents to take advantage of discounted desexing.
“It’s important to remember that kittens can have kittens, so they should be desexed before they reach 12-16 weeks of age,” Mayor Carbone said.
“Desexing male and female cats prevents the birth of unwanted kittens, stops the development of antisocial behaviours such as spraying, and reduces the incidence of fighting.
“Microchipping your cat is a legal requirement and helps you to find your cat if it is lost.”
Discounted prices during Operation Cat include pick-up and return of your cat by a Cat Protection Welfare Officer.
There are limited spots available, so please register your interest ASAP to secure your spot. Prices are:
- Desex and microchip (female) - $90, (male) - $80
- Desex only (female) - $80 - (male) - $70
- Microchipping only - $30
Booking is essential and you will be required to provide a pensioner number or other proof of low income. To make a booking, phone the Cat Protection Society of NSW on 9519 7201.
This offer is only for Fairfield City residents.
