Surf's up in Fairfield City – new Wave Rider opening
Published Thursday, 30th November 2017
Fairfield City will launch into summer with the opening of the exciting new Wave Rider attraction at Aquatopia on 2 December at 12pm.
Mayor of Fairfield City Frank Carbone said families can now ride the surf in Fairfield City, without the need to travel long distances to the beach.
“We’re bringing the waves to Fairfield City,” Mayor Carbone said.
“The Wave Rider is one of the first of its kind in Australia, so visit Aquatopia and be one of the first to surf the new adventure ride.
“The Wave Rider adds to Aquatopia’s smorgasbord of ‘splashtacular’ features for all ages to enjoy.
“We are building our City for local families and delivering places to go that are affordable and provide healthy activities for our children.
“The Wave Rider is an investment in our community that continues to build Aquatopia into one of South West Sydney’s best attractions for affordable family fun.”
The Wave Rider is free to use as part of entry to Aquatopia
“I encourage all members of the family to come down and try the new Wave Rider and experience the thrill of surfing,” Mayor Carbone said.
“There is no better place for residents of all ages and abilities to have fun, cool down and spend quality time with their families.
“We are also planning to introduce a further attraction, the Fishpipe ride in 2018. The Fishpipe is a water filled ball where riders are tumbled about. It’s like being in a washing machine and on a long water slide at the same time.
“And don’t forget there are still the three giant 10-metre slides, adventure aqua tower with water cannons, tipping buckets and toddler play area, cabanas and barbeques that make Aquatopia such a great experience for residents.”
Aquatopia has been incredibly popular since it opened last year. Families can avoid entry queues and ensure entry on their chosen day by buying tickets online at www.fairfieldcityleisurecentres.com.au.
Minimum height to use the new Wave Rider is 1.2 metres.
