Keeping Fairfield City kids busy in the holidays

School holidays are just around the corner and Fairfield City has an array of activities available to keep your children entertained.

Fairfield Libraries have exciting school activities your children will enjoy.

Anzac Day Craft

Create Anzac Day craft – poppy flower, wreath and hat. Children will also take home a pencil case, ruler and pencils. This is a fun school activity for all school age children sponsored and run by Bunnings Warehouse.

In Disguise Craft

Decorate your own cardboard glasses! A fun activity for all school age children sponsored and run by Bunnings Warehouse.

Game On

Cabramatta Library will celebrate Youth Week by hosting a Mario Kart gaming session and FREE barbecue on Monday 13 April from 11am-2pm.

Come and learn how to play Chess at a FREE workshop at Cabramatta Library. Chess stimulates minds, improves problem solving and enhances concentration.

German Folk Egg Decorating

When: Tuesday, 7 April
Cost: $8
Time: 10.30am–noon
Ages: 5–13 years

In this workshop children will learn the old German art of egg decorating and use various painting techniques to explore abstract designs, faces and flowers to create new and festive decorations inspired by this colourful traditional pastime.

Rosie the Rabbit Easter visit

When: Wednesday 8 April 
Cost: $8
Time: 10.30am–noon
Ages: 5–13 years

The artist will bring her pet rabbit, Rosie, to the gallery. Practice drawing Rosie, learn new techniques and complete an artwork based on a bunny.

Making Home

Inspired by A Place to Call Home exhibition, make a diorama of your most favourite room in your house.

Paddle Pop Planes, People and Places

When: Thursday 9 April

Ages: 5–14 years

A fun workshop, creating unique people planes and places out of Paddle Pop sticks and other craft materials.

Paint, Brush, Play – Tiny Tots

When: Tuesday, 14 April
Cost: $8

Ages: 7–12 years

Children will create different ‘people’ using cut-outs such as trees and flowers as eyes and noses.

Easter Origami

When: Wednesday, 15 April
Cost: $8
Time: 10.30am–noon
Ages: 6–12 years

Learn how to take a square piece of paper and turn it into a flower, a bird, a rabbit or a basket for collecting your Easter eggs! You can turn your creations into a picture, a hanging mobile, or just take them home as they are.

Easter Cookies

Ages: 6–15 years
