Endless fun in store at water park adventure land

Fairfield City Council’s exciting new water park at Prairiewood is about to get its next show stopping element, set to bring hours of water play fun to the children of Fairfield City.
The water park will be located at Prairiewood Leisure Centre and will feature a large themed adventure aqua tower, incorporating water activities for children of all ages and abilities, along with a Stingray surfing/skim boarding half pipe ride.
Mayor of Fairfield City, Frank Carbone, said there is loads of fun in store for children and families at Council’s water park.
“The themed adventure aqua tower will be more than 12 metres high and is six times the size of the existing Aqua Play Water Park at Fairfield Leisure Centre. It features 6 water slides of varying designs, a giant tipping bucket, smaller tipping buckets and water canons. There will be approximately 79 fun-filled features of this amazing adventure land all surrounded by protective soft fall,” said Mayor Carbone.
“This is an exciting time for the families of Fairfield. We are in the process of creating this wonderful community asset which will be a feature of children’s summers for a long time to come. We want to make sure that the design is inclusive and appeals to everyone.
“Council has four different themes to choose from and as a result we are asking the community to tell us what they think. We have consulted with Council’s Youth Advisory Committee and now we are asking residents to have their say.
“We have posted pictures of the four themes on Council’s Facebook page and are asking people to ‘Like’ the one they want to see at the water park.
“The themed adventure aqua tower complements the Stingray surfing/skim boarding half pipe ride which is the first of its kind in Australia. Whether you are a family with young children or teenagers there is something here for little thrill-seekers of all ages.
“There are many more exciting elements yet to come to the water park, so stay tuned for future announcements.
“Families will no longer need to outlay the time and expense of petrol and parking required to travel to the coast to learn to surf. They also don’t need to go to other expensive providers to have a fun day out in the heat of summer. The water park at Prairiewood has been designed as an affordable option for the families of Fairfield.
“I made a commitment to make Fairfield a better place for families. This is just one of the major projects being delivered that bring better facilities to Fairfield City.
“Other exciting projects include the Fairfield Youth and Community Centre which is due to open this October and a boot camp style obstacle course to be located in Fairfield Park near the existing Adventure Park which opened earlier this year.
“Upon completion Fairfield City will hold some of the best family facilities in all of South West Sydney. There will be no need for anyone to travel elsewhere for a great family day out,” Mayor Carbone said.
The Water Park is expected to be completed for summer 2016 with some elements possibly delivered earlier.
