Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2017-2021
Fairfield City Council’s Disability Inclusion Action provides comprehensive details of how Council will ensure our City remains an inclusive and accessible place for everyone.
It meets the requirements of the NSW Government’s Disability Inclusion Act 2014, covering four key focus areas:
- Encouraging positive community attitudes and behaviours
- Creating liveable communities
- Supporting access to meaningful employment
- Improving access to services through better systems and processes

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
Fairfield City Council is a proud NDIS provider.
We offer specialist support in the following areas:
- Children and Family Services (for children aged 0-12)
- Exercise and water safety sessions (for people under 65 years of age)
Children and Family Services
Fairstart Early Intervention offers support to children with a disability or developmental delay and includes services like speech pathology and occupational therapy. For more information about this, please visit our Fairstart page.

Exercise and Water Safety
Fairfield Leisure Centres offer:
- Initial assessments
- Exercise physiology sessions
- Personal training sessions
- Water safety sessions.
Our services are registered under Capacity Building - Health and Wellbeing, which must be included in individual plans to enable us to service you.

South West Ageing and Disability Forum
The South West Sydney Ageing and Disability Forum aims to provide an environment of mutual support, cooperation, networking and the sharing of information for Ageing and Disability service providers and to be a voice for the needs of frail older people, people with a disability and carers in the Fairfield, Liverpool and Cantebury Bankstown local Government areas (LGA's).
Membership is open to organisations and their workers who work with older people, people with disability and/or their carers, in the Fairfield, Liverpool and Canterbury Bankstown LGAs and peak aged and disability organisations in NSW.
Information, agendas and minute for the forum are distributed by the email function of the support services website, which has an intranet for SWS Ageing and Disability Services.
