A selection of photos from the Fairfield City Photographer’s 2021 collection ‘Fairfield Scene’ will be on display at Crescent Plaza in Fairfield later this month.

Helene Cochaud was selected as the inaugural Fairfield City Photographer last year, and from December 2021 to February 2022 was tasked with documenting the people and places of Fairfield City through a series of photographs that would be published on Council’s Heritage Collection website, and officially launched at Fairfield’s Crescent Plaza gallery walk.

The result was ‘Fairfield Scene’, a combination of street photography and a glimpse into the lives of eleven locals.

Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said the photos are a pictorial representation of Fairfield City’s unique diversity.

“The diversity of our City and its people means we have many interesting stories to tell,” Mayor Carbone said.

“Fairfield Scene provides a catalogue of photos and accompanying stories of everyday people, capturing the essence of our City’s colourful and inclusive spirit.

“They say a picture tells a thousand words, and the Fairfield City Photographer program is as much an invitation to tell Fairfield City’s unique story as it is to capture its character.”

A selection of images from Fairfield Scene will be on display at Crescent Plaza from Saturday 30 July 2022.
