Share Your COVID-19 Experience to Become Part of History

Fairfield City Open Libraries is inviting residents and workers in Fairfield City to share images of how their daily lives have changed during COVID-19 for a digital archive that will help future generations understand the impact of the pandemic and how people adapted.
The OUR STORIES: Fairfield’s daily life during COVID-19 collection will document and archive the community’s stories and experiences in Fairfield City Heritage Collection’s digital catalogue.
Fairfield City Mayor Frank Carbone said the project will create a snapshot of the City in this moment in time.
“In such a short timeframe our world has changed very quickly, and in quite unexpected ways,” Mayor Carbone said.
“Our City has risen to the occasion and shown we are ready and willing to adapt, connect, help others and meet the challenges of COVID-19.
“We want to capture this in pictures and share it through the Fairfield City Heritage Collection online platform.
“It will be our legacy for future generations to learn about our challenges and resilience during this difficult time.”
The Fairfield City Heritage Collection is the collector and preserver of the City’s history; providing a digitised catalogue of significant and rare objects, photographs and oral histories from the area dating back to the 1800’s.
