The draft Plan of Management Prairiewood Leisure Centre provides an overall framework for the management of the site of Prairiewood Leisure Centre, and identifies strategies for future management and improvements.
This draft Plan of Management seeks to define a sustainable direction for the site that recognises the multiple recreational and environmental roles of the Prairiewood Leisure Centre and the values of the site in which it is located. It establishes Council’s goals, strategies and desired outcomes that will guide the shape and nature of management of the site over the next 5-10 years.
The draft Plan of Management identifies the future categorisation of the land, the activities and uses that are envisaged, management direction and performance indicators as required by the Local Government Act 1993. The proposed categories for Prairiewood Leisure Centre are: General Community Use, Natural Area Bushland and Natural Area Watercourse.
The document has been developed following consultation with the community in early 2020.
The draft Plan of Management is on public exhibition from Wednesday 30 September to Wednesday 28 October 2020.
Council has undertaken improvements at Prairiewood Leisure Centre in recent years to create a fantastic leisure centre and Aquatopia water park.
