Occupational and Speech Therapists

Expressions of Interest at Fairfield City Council Children & Family Services we warmly welcome expression of interest (EOI) applications from professionals who are interested in joining our passionate team of speech pathologists, occupation therapists and specialist teachers.

The Children and Family Services therapy team works closely with families, providing services to children based on personal assessment to identify specific needs. With a strong emphasis on play based intervention, our therapists and each family develop individual goals for each child, ensuing these are aligned with evidence-based practice.

Our speech pathology team strongly work towards providing opportunities for early childhood and school aged children including parent training, speech and language intervention, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device systems, social skills development and stuttering intervention.

Our occupational therapy team enthusiastically ensure children develop their socialising and self – care tasks. Our occupational therapists provide various support services including sensory processing, motor skills development, attention and concentrating, executive functioning, fussy eating and self – care (including feeding, dressing and toileting).

The Children and Family Services therapist team also includes specialist teachers. Our early childhood intervention specialist teachers play an important role in supporting children with global developmental delay and autism to develop the skills they will need to be included in an early learning centre (preschool or long day care) and to have a successful transition to primary school. Our specialist teachers work with families and other educational settings to identify support strategies and goals based on a child’s development needs and the family priorities. The specialist teachers will work closely with a variety of other professionals including occupational therapists, speech pathologists, physiotherapists, early childhood and primary school teachers and psychologists.

If you would like to be a part of the Children & Family Service therapist team, we encourage you to send your expressions of interest to cfs@fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au
