We are looking forward to welcoming our community safely back to Fairfield City Open Libraries.

As required by the Public Health Order, conditions of entry include:

  • All branches have a current COVID Safety Plan
  • Signing in using the COVID safe check in
  • Mandatory mask wearing except for children under 12. If you cannot wear a face mask because of a disability, physical or mental health illness or condition, you must carry either a medical certificate or letter signed by a registered health practitioner (such as a doctor) or a registered NDIS provider or a statutory declaration.
  • All customers aged 16 and over must be fully vaccinated and you will be asked to present proof upon entry. Learn more about how to obtain proof of your vaccination on the NSW Health website.

If you are not fully vaccinated please contact the library about how to Order and Collect reserved items on 9725 0333. 

Opening hours

To support HSC students, we have extended hours at Fairfield and Whitlam Library Cabramatta. Please visit our 'Visit our Branches' page to learn more. Smithfield Community Library remains closed and will reopen in December.

A Justice of the Peace (JP) service is available

Please check this page for latest updates before visiting the Library. These conditions of entry may change in the future due to changing NSW Health directives.

Order and Collect

Order and Collect is available to members who are not fully vaccinated, or who are unvaccinated.

Here’s how it works:

You can borrow books, DVD's, Magazines and Kobo Readers either online or by calling us with your preference. We will notify you when your order is available for pick up.

You can reserve items through our catalogue or the Library app.

Request to Order and Collect:

Online: You'll need to have your library card number and PIN (number) to reserve your items on the catalogue.

By phone: You can reserve any library items with just your library card number when phoning 9725 0333.

Pick your items up from the library in a contactless way:

  • Once we have received your request, we will get in contact with you and let you know when to pick up your items
  • All items will be checked out to your card beforehand
  • Please bring your library card with you
  • Please wear a mask when collecting items and Items will be placed on a table outside the entrance of the library for collection

Smithfield Community Library remains closed until December.

The health and safety of our staff and visitors is our priority so please adhere to the current Public Health Orders.

How do I return my items?

You can return your Order and Collect items via the return chute at Bonnyrigg and Wetherill Park Libraries. The return chute is also available after-hours at both branches.

What if I am under 16?

Children under 16 years of age who are not fully vaccinated can only enter the library if accompanied by a fully vaccinated member of their household.  

Are computers be available?

A limited number of computers will be available to maintain social distancing with usage reduced to one hour a day. 

How do I return my items?

Items may be returned at all branches during opening hours or via the return chute at Bonnyrigg and Wetherill Park Libraries. The return chute is also available after-hours at both branches. Please note: Smithfield Community Library remains closed until December.
