Capture Fairfield Waste to Art Competition
This year we have introduced a ‘Waste to Art’ category for primary schools, in addition to visual arts and photography.
Fairfield City is home to people who are passionate about protecting and preserving the local environment, and the new category aims to inspire students to think differently about waste, litter and over-consumption while showcasing their artistic abilities.
The ‘Waste to Art’ category is offered as a collective class effort which involves repurposing recycled and waste materials into art, and is available to classes in years 3 to 6.
Examples of materials are fabrics, cardboard packaging, plastics, old toys, bottles, bolts, tins, cans and items found in the natural environment.

Kickstart your war on food waste at your school by using the Compost Revolution voucher to establish a composting and gardening system at your school. The Compost Revolution vouchers can be used to purchase any composting system from the Australia wide Compost Revolution website including caddies to collect food waste from the classroom, compost systems for your garden and a garden bed to grow your very own plants! If you are stuck, the composting specialists at Compost Revolution can also help you with picking the best product for you.
Any school that enters the competition will also be eligible to be a part of Compost Revolution and Fairfield City Council’s Scraps for Schools program, where $10 from every purchase of a compost bin or worm farm will be donated to your school’s gardening program in the form of a voucher for Maze gardening products.
