We are fortunate that due to our diversity, our City celebrates some of the biggest festivals in Sydney.

While most were put on hold last year, I’m excited that our popular events and festivals program is back.

Fairfield’s celebration of international flavours and cuisines Culinary Carnival will return to Fairfield City Centre this Saturday, 29 May from 11am.

This year the festival will be a little bit different to ensure it is COVID safe.

It will be a celebration across the city centre with free rides for the kids, entertainment and the food we all enjoy and expect from Culinary Carnival.

The event is a flavour adventure, where you can discover all the amazing cuisine that Fairfield has to offer, with free sample dishes available at participating restaurants and food vendors from 11am-2pm (or until they run out).

Map out your day and plan your return! We all know businesses have been doing it tough so this is a good opportunity to shop local and support the business community in the centre.

As people would be aware, we had to postpone last year’s New Year’s Eve Illuminate event.

We are now planning to “Re-Illuminate” the skies next month. Fairfield Showground will once again be the stage for a celebration of our multiculturalism, bringing you music, rides, food, carnival games and a fireworks finale.

Locals will have priority access to tickets. Stay tuned on our Facebook page as details are released.
