Proposed Traffic Treatments - Intersection of Gladstone St & John St

Submissions closed on 13 January 2023, 04:00 PM

Council is proposing to implement traffic treatments at the intersection of Gladstone Street and John Street (roundabout) to improve the safety of road users. The proposal comprises of the following:

  • Modifying the mountable roundabout and its lane width;
  • Widening the existing splitter islands at all four approaches to the roundabout and constructing new kerb ramps to facilitate pedestrians crossing at the intersection;
  • Installation of regulatory signs including “No Stopping” restrictions and “Keep Left” signs. Since there is an existing roundabout already at the intersection, there would be no loss of on-street parking spaces with this proposal; and
  • Modifying the existing line markings associated with the roundabout including centre and edge line markings to improve delineation.

Council is seeking comments from the affected stakeholders regarding the proposal. Submissions in writing either by way of support or objection must reach Council by Friday, 13 January 2023. Should you wish to make a submission regarding the proposal, please email your comments to trafficandtransport@fairfieldcity.nsw.gov.au or mail them to Council at PO Box 21, Fairfield NSW 1860.
