Helping you spring clean

Council understands that with spring comes the opportunity to do gardening and spring cleaning around your home, whether that is trimming your hedges, planting flowers and plants, or freshening up your garden beds.

The voucher can be used at any time from now until July next year. This is your opportunity to do an organic spring clean around your yard by trimming your tree branches and getting your garden beds looking great for the warmer months.

You can drop off your green waste at Council’s Recycling Drop Off Centre in Wetherill Park, located on the corner of Davis and Widemere roads. Green waste can be grass clippings, prunings, thorny material such as rose bushes, as well as succulents and palms.

Council will also be holding its popular Spring Clean Drop Off day on Sunday 9 September – at Fairfield Showground. You can drop off bulky items like furniture and mattresses. We want to help make Fairfield City a clean city so we are giving you this opportunity to get rid of old furniture for free. Last year we collected 150 tonnes of bulky waste.

The popular Electrical and Chemical Clean Out day will be held on Sunday 19 August at the Showground. You can get rid of your old kitchen appliances, televisions, computers and batteries.

Watch for your waste voucher attached to your rates notice. To find out more about what Council will accept at the Spring Clean and chemical drop offs, visit
