Icetopia a huge hit

Thank you to all the families that came along to Icetopia over the school holidays.

I’m glad to say that more than 6,200 people strapped on their skates with friends and family to enjoy ice skating and snow in Fairfield! We wanted to give families the chance to enjoy the magic of winter right here in their own backyard.

It is Council’s commitment to provide places and events that are fun and affordable for local families so you can get outside and be active, all year round.

Now that Icetopia has finished, work will begin on two new, exciting attractions for the summer months at Aquatopia.

The water park’s visitors are in for a big treat this summer, with Council building a 20-metre tall slide tower with six highspeed thrill slides, including a three lane racing slide, as well as the Fishpipe.

The Fishpipe is a big rotating ball filled with water that visitors can jump into and get pummelled around - like being inside a giant washing machine. This is in addition to the three 10-metre slides, adventure aqua tower and Waverider already at Aquatopia.

Big things are happening all around the City, with work at Fairfield Showground to transform it into a Multicultural and Sporting Centre of Excellence. We will also begin building a new community park for the residents of Villawood and Carramar this year.

One of our City’s biggest annual celebrations is coming up next month. People from across Sydney will flock to Cabramatta Moon Festival on 23 September for lots of entertainment, food and family fun.

These are just some of the ways are committed to providing fun and affordable local family activities and facilities to make Fairfield City a great place to live and raise a family.
