Quality care for working families

I am proud to announce that Fairfield City Council has commenced construction of a brand new $1.4 million pre-school in Bossley Park, in partnership with the State Government. Council aims to open the centre to families at the end of January 2019.

The 40-place preschool will be built on-site at Bossley Park Public School. The location was chosen in response to community needs, as the current 20-place mobile preschool has not been able to keep up with demand. The new centre will provide more than 4,000 new sessions each year.

Quality early childhood education is one of the most important investments parents can make for their families. It gives children a great start to their education and supports parents to go back to work or study and continue their careers.

Every child deserves access to quality preschool education and the opportunities this provides. This is why Council is committed to providing an affordable, quality service to support our local families.

Council currently operates 12 early learning centres and two mobile preschools, with prices starting from as little as $10 a day for eligible families. We also have 10 supported playgroups and a Family Day Care scheme with 60 educators providing education and care from their homes in Fairfield City.

Council is also registered as an NDIS provider, which gives families with children under 12 access to speech pathology and occupational therapy through the Fairstart Early Intervention service.

All up, Council provides close to 3,000 spaces with our children’s services. Providing high quality, low cost services means parents can spend time at work or study knowing their children are receiving the best care and early education in their lead up to school.
