New slides for Australia Day

Council is working hard to bring families together and get kids active, and to make Fairfield City a great place to live.

That is why we have been investing strongly in our parks and infrastructure right across our City.

Australia Day is the perfect day to have a picnic or barbecue, be active and especially find fun ways to cool off. With temperatures expected to be in the 30s, this Australia Day weekend will be no exception.

That is why I am especially excited that this Australia Day I will be opening Aquatopia’s newest attraction, the 20-metre slide tower.

The new slide tower features a 3-Lane Racing Ride - perfect for challenging your friends; a high-speed free-fall slide; and the Rocket Drop Slide - which drops brave riders via a trap door to a fast loop.

The new slides join an already exciting line up of attractions at Aquatopia, including three giant slides, an adventure aqua tower with 79 unique and fun elements, Wave Rider surf ride, the Fishpipe, toddler play area, and cabanas with barbecues to hire – perfect for families looking to share a meal in the shade.

As part of Council’s Australia Day celebrations, entry to Prairiewood and Fairfield leisure centres and Fairfield Youth and Community Centre will be free – and there will be a fireworks finale at Canley Heights Town Centre at 9pm. We have also decorated our City with Australia Day banners.

We have much to be thankful for in this wonderful country, and Council is committed to making sure that our City is a fun place for families to come together, not just on Australia Day, but every day of the year.
