‘Capture Fairfield’ and win!

I’m excited to announce the launch of the 2019 Capture Fairfield Visual Arts & Photography Competition.

Fairfield City is an amazing mix of environmental beauty, interesting people and colourful and rich culture. It really is a photogenic place and offers plenty of inspiration for artists and photographers alike.

We want as many people as possible to get involved and express themselves creatively, no matter what their artistic skill. That is why this year Capture Fairfield has been expanded to include a visual arts category. This can include sketches, painting, mixed media, animation, video art, sculpture and ceramics, so let your creativity run wild.

This year’s theme is Your Council and there is more than $9000 in prize money up for grabs. Primary and secondary students, and amateur artists and photographers 18 years and over, are invited to submit their artistic interpretation of what best captures the character of Fairfield City.

From beginners with a unique concept to more seasoned artists, photographers and graphic design gurus, the competition is open to everyone.

Photographs and visual artworks will be judged under two sections of the 2019 Local Government Week theme of Your Council;

1. Your Council - Your City

Entries must relate to the natural and built environment of Fairfield City. This includes natural landscapes and waterscapes, flora and fauna and iconic sites and meeting places in Fairfield City.

2. Your Council - Your Community

Entries must reflect Fairfield City celebrations and diverse communities. This includes local life, people and experiences, as well as events held in Fairfield City.
