Free child restraint fitting vouchers

As a father, I know the importance of keeping our children safe when they’re travelling in the car.

In Australia, approximately half of all car accident injuries involve children. A child who is properly secured in an approved child car seat is less likely to be injured or killed in a car crash than one who is not.
Children who are restrained incorrectly are up to seven times more likely to be seriously injured in a crash than children who are fitted in the correct child car seat for their age and size.
It can be very difficult to know for sure whether your child restraint is fitted correctly. To help you ensure the safety of your children, Fairfield City Council provides a limited number of child-restraint fitting vouchers to residents every year.
The vouchers are for one free child-restraint fitting service at Council’s chosen Authorised Safety Restraint Fitter at Fairfield Heights.
These fitters are part of a specialist network and have been trained to fit, inspect and adjust child car seats to make sure they are installed correctly for each vehicle.
They can also show you the correct way to use your child car seat so you can be confident your child is safe.
These vouchers are very popular so if you currently have a child restraint in your car or are about to fit one, I encourage you to call Council on 9725 0222 and take advantage of this great service.
For more information on child restraints, visit www.childcarseats.com.au. You can compare more than 200 types of forward facing, rear facing and booster seats, find details of how the seats are tested and rated, and how to use seats correctly, check if they are still safe and answer most common questions.
