Helping you spring clean

Council understands that with spring not too far away that now is a great opportunity to do gardening and spring cleaning around your home, whether that is trimming your hedges and lawn, planting flowers and plants, or freshening up your garden beds.

We want to make it easier for you to do a garden clean up and save money by giving you a free voucher to get rid of your green waste. This voucher is included in your July rates notice.

The voucher can be used at any time from now until July next year. This is your opportunity to do an organic spring clean around your yard by trimming your tree branches and getting your garden beds looking great for the warmer months.

You can drop off your green waste at Council’s Recycling Drop Off Centre in Wetherill Park, located on the corner of Davis and Widemere roads. Green waste can be grass clippings, prunings, as well as succulents and palms.

Council will also be holding its Chemical and E-waste Drop Off day on Sunday 18 August at the Showground. The popular day returns for you to safely get rid of waste that can’t go in your bin, such as computers, televisions, gaming consoles, household appliances, solvents, paints, gas bottles, pesticides and herbicides and pool chemicals.

And start collecting those bulky goods you need to get rid of with our Spring Clean Drop Off day on Sunday 13 October – at Fairfield Showground. You can drop off bulky items like furniture and mattresses. We want to help make Fairfield City a clean city so we are giving you these opportunities to get rid of items that can’t go in your normal bin.

Watch for your waste voucher attached to your rates notice. To find out more about what Council will accept at the Spring Clean and Chemical and E-waste Drop Offs, visit
