Infrastructure upgrades in Bonnyrigg Heights

My focus since becoming Mayor has been making Fairfield City more accessible to families and the greater community, and providing access to high quality services and facilities for the health of our City.

The development of Wilson Park is part of the continued co-ordinated infrastructure roll out across the entire City.

This development builds upon the existing infrastructure of walking paths, cycleways and playgrounds which include the popular Fairfield Adventure Park.

Wilson Park is located near the cross section of Wilson Road and Gloucester Street and will have a children's playground that will feature a 30 metre long flying fox.

Another key element of this new community facility is a multi-purpose all weather sports court, which provide space for a number of sports including futsal. The court will be fenced off with appropriate lighting.

With the introduction of smaller blocks of land, large backyards are becoming a thing of the past and safe areas where dogs can exercise off-leash is becoming increasingly important.

To cater to this community need, Wilson Park will have a 2,000 square metre off leash dog park. It will have separate areas for small and large dogs, so that they can have their own space.

This is something that the community is excited to see happen.

In addition to this, Wilson Park will have outdoor fitness equipment as well as a walking circuit similar to Emerson Reserve, Wetherill Park. There are also plans to connect cyclists to the existing cycleways that run across our City.

I look forward to giving you more updates on this new family precinct and the continued improvement of our active recreation facilities.
