New obstacle course to include human foosball

I'm very excited to announce that the obstacle course and tree top walk being built at Fairfield Park will include a human foosball court.

Foosball is a table soccer game in which players turn rods attached to miniature figures of players to flick the ball and strike it toward the goal.

Human foosball is a life-size version of the game and has become a popular group sport. Rules are much like the tabletop version, with the winner determined by the first team to get a certain number of goals.

This will be a great attraction for families picnicking in Fairfield Park, where they can also enjoy the iconic Adventure Park playground and nearby facilities at Fairfield Youth and Community Centre and Fairfield Leisure Centre.

The human foosball court and a Tug o' War area now being built are due for completion at the end of August.

The "obstacles" for the obstacle course are being engineered and fabricated offsite and will be brought to the park in late August and progressively installed into pre-prepared footings.

The course will be suitable for people aged 15 years and over and will provide excellent leisure and recreation opportunities for locals and visitors from across Western Sydney.

It is designed to be used by individuals or in groups and will be challenging and exciting for all users.

The tree top walk will feature platforms and a rope bridge crossing set among the remnant vegetation of the area.

The design also incorporates an educational element that will include signage on natural resources within the park and educate visitors about the different types of trees in the Fairfield area.

Completing the tree top walk will be two 20 metre flying foxes to take you back to the ground.

Once completed, Fairfield Park will be one of the premier FREE recreation areas for families not only in Fairfield City, but also all of Sydney and something our entire community can be proud of.
