Dispose of your chemical and e-waste household clutter for free

Council will once again host a FREE Household E-Waste and Chemical Clean-Out event on Sunday 24 August from 9am to 3.30pm at Fairfield Showground. 

This event provides a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of household chemicals and electronic waste that should never be placed in your regular bins. 

Items such as solvents, paints, gas bottles, pesticides and herbicides, pool chemicals, TVs, computers and household appliances will be accepted – helping to keep our homes, neighbourhoods, and environment clean and safe.

I encourage all residents to take this opportunity to clean out your garages, sheds, and storage spaces and dispose of unwanted items the right way. A maximum of 20L or 20kg of a single item is permitted. 

Also, mark your calendars for our Spring Clean Drop-off Day at Fairfield Showground next month on Sunday 14 September, where you can drop off bulky household items like furniture and mattresses for free.
