Registration form
Primary schools are invited to take part in incursion-based environmental education workshops run by EnviroMentors each year. Workshops are linked to the NSW Curriculum and include topics such as recycling, sustainability, and litter.

Learn which bin to use and what happens to waste – landfill, recycling, or compost |
- Explain red, yellow, and green bins and what goes in each
- Discuss environmental impacts of landfill
- Show how recycling and FOGO reduce waste
- Practice sorting waste correctly
- Accurately sort waste into the correct bin, to minimise contamination and divert waste from landfill.
- Cover disposal of tricky items like batteries, e-waste, clothing and bulky waste

Explore the 5Rs – Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, Recycle and how they support the circular economy |
- Define each R with examples
- Explain benefits of recycling and reducing waste from landfill
- Identify recyclables correctly
- Outline steps at recycling facility and why contamination matters
- Identify each step which occurs at a Materials Recovery Facility, and discuss the impact of contamination on the recycling process.

Food Waste & FOGO |
Understand food waste issues and how FOGO helps |
- Define ‘food scraps’ and ‘food waste’ and identify environmental issues, including climate change
- Identify sources and ways to reduce waste at home and school
- Explain what happens to FOGO waste after collection
- Show how contamination affects FOGO processing
- Discuss barriers and solutions for proper FOGO use
