Being a volunteer can be a rewarding and valuable experience. It also plays a valuable part in supporting our community. Fairfield City Council offers volunteer opportunities in the following areas:

Volunteer Noticeboard

The Fairfield City Council volunteer noticeboard lists vacancies on behalf of local organisations wanting assistance in delivering important services. Local organisations can request to post a vacancy and advertise on the Fairfield City volunteer noticeboard.

Volunteer register

Council maintains a register of people who are interested in volunteering in the community. Participants on the register receive regular updates via email on local volunteering opportunities. Register your interest here.

Events such as Bring It On! Festival, Culinary Carnival, Illuminate, Lunar New Year and the Cabramatta Moon Festival benefit from the participation of volunteers.

Environmental groups include volunteering at our Nursery Volunteer Day, Fairfield Indigenous Flora Park, Fairfield Creeks and Wetlands Group, Cabramatta Creek Flying Fox Committee and the Sartor Bushcare Group. Visit the environmental volunteering page for more information.

Museum and Gallery

Volunteers may assist with events such as the Living Cultures Festival, One Night at the Museum, Halloween at the Museum and the Primary School Education Program. Visit the FCMG website for more information.

Open Libraries

Volunteers assist with library programs. Contact the Library for more information.

Are you looking at starting your career? An Apprenticeship is a great way to receive training and skills while you are working.

Apprentices are employed through HVTC Skillswest and the NSW Group Training Organisations.
