A new destination park is taking shape
Brenan Park in Smithfield is set to become one of Fairfield City’s most exciting new district‑level open spaces, with plans well advanced for a major transformation that will deliver a state‑of‑the‑art park for families, children, and the wider community.
The project will see Brenan Park redeveloped into a true destination park, featuring a large, all‑abilities playground with standout attractions including a flying fox, a striking multi‑level climbing tower, water play areas, adventure and nature‑based play, and spaces designed specifically for toddlers through to older children. The upgraded park will also include picnic areas, shaded seating, landscaped green spaces, outdoor fitness equipment, and improved accessibility throughout the site.
With planning and design work progressing, Council is preparing for the next phase of the project, with construction expected to commence in 2027. Once complete, Brenan Park District Park will provide a vibrant new space for play, recreation, and community connection, creating a much‑loved destination for Smithfield residents and visitors from across Fairfield City.
