We always want to ensure that families can get out, be active and get fit – it’s great for our health and well being. That’s why I’m pleased to announce that our popular FREE Active Fest program is returning to Fairfield Youth and Community Centre this Sunday 30 April from 11.30am-2.30pm.

Families are invited to come down to meet Active Kids providers and local sporting groups, experience a range of sports, get physically active, and have some fun in a relaxed community environment.

Children will have a variety of activities to participate in on the day, and the opportunity to redeem their NSW Government Active Kids vouchers before they expire on 1 July 2023.

The day will also include sports and recreation demonstrations, healthy food talks and free show bags for children.

For 3 years now Active Fest has been held at Fairfield Youth and Community Centre as it provides some of the best youth facilities in our region.

Located in the Fairfield Park precinct which includes the Fairfield Leisure Centre, Adventure Park and Obstacle Course, the Centre has an open day on the first Sunday of the month from 11am-3pm.

Young people are encouraged to come along to the next open day on Sunday 7 May to get active and interact with others in the community. Choose from trampolining, table tennis, a game of basketball; futsal; or volleyball in the double sports courts, or simply relax in the chill zone. Instructors will be on hand to help and support with activities. Registration is not required, anyone is welcome to drop in.

There’s so much on offer across the City for all interests and abilities, I encourage you to jump online, check out the many of activities on offer and maybe try something new or different.
